MCVTA and APAD Begin a New Chapter of Industry Engagement

The Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Traders Association (MCVTA) paid a courtesy visit to the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) on 14 July 2026 at the Royal Selangor Club, Dataran Merdeka. The visit marked the beginning of a new chapter of engagement between MCVTA and APAD, providing an opportunity for both parties to establish closer communication and build a constructive working relationship.

During the meeting, MCVTA introduced the Association, shared its role in representing Malaysia's commercial vehicle industry, and highlighted its commitment to working collaboratively with government agencies in support of industry development. Both parties also exchanged views on current issues affecting the commercial vehicle sector and discussed the importance of maintaining an open and continuous dialogue.

A key outcome of the meeting was the mutual agreement to hold quarterly engagement sessions. These regular meetings will provide a dedicated platform to discuss industry developments, address operational and regulatory matters, and explore opportunities for collaboration on issues of mutual interest.

Following the discussion, MCVTA will consolidate the key issues raised, develop practical recommendations and proposals, and submit a memorandum to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) for further consideration. The aim is to support ongoing efforts to improve policies and regulatory processes that will benefit the commercial vehicle industry.

MCVTA extends its sincere appreciation to APAD for the valuable insights, and openness throughout the engagement. The Association looks forward to building a strong and productive partnership with APAD through regular dialogue and meaningful collaboration for the continued growth and development of Malaysia's commercial vehicle industry.
